Maps scale and symbols.
Mapmaking requires translating three-dimensional space into two-dimensional representation at a chosen scale — a complex spatial cognition task. Students who create maps develop the mental rotation and scale reasoning skills that support later work in geometry, architecture, and geography.
1. Measure classroom length. 2. Choose scale. 3. Draw walls. 4. Add furniture symbols. 5. Add legend.
