Food webs are systems — and systems thinking is the rarest and most powerful cognitive skill. Building a food web from components makes the relationships between organisms visible and manipulable, revealing emergent properties (cascading collapse) that no single observation could show.
1. Lay organism cards. 2. Draw arrows from prey to predator. 3. Create web. 4. Remove one organism.
